quinoline derivatives as potent anticonvulsants
PURPOSE. A new series of substituted quinoline-2(1H)-one and 1,2,4triazolo[4,3-a]-quinoline derivatives were designed and synthesized to meet the structural requirements essential for anticonvulsant properties. METHODS. 4-substituted-phenyl3,4-dihydro-2(1H)-quinolines, 5-substitutedphenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3a]quinolines and 5-substituted-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4triazolo-[4,3-a]quinol...
متن کاملAntimicrobial activity of quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide and three derivatives
The present work reports the study of the antimicrobial activity of four quinoxaline N,N-dioxide: quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide, 2-methylquinoxaline 1,4-dioxide, 6chloro-2,3-dimethylquinoxaline 1,4-dioxide and 3-benzoyl-2-methylquinoxaline 1,4dioxide against Geobacillus stearothermophilus ATCC 10149, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Escherichia coli HB101, Escherichia coli (blaTEM, blaCTX-M) and Salmonel...
متن کاملSynthesis of tetrazolo [1,5-a]quinoxaline derivatives
Displacement reaction of 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline with secondary amines in boiling ethanol afforded it`s mono aminoquinoxaline derivatives. Further reaction of the latter compounds with sodium azide in warm dimethylsulfoxide achieved a group of 4-amino tetrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline derivatives. 1HNMR spectra of these compounds are discussed.
متن کاملNovel quinoline and naphthalene derivatives as potent antimycobacterial agents.
We have designed and synthesized both the quinoline and naphthalene based molecules influenced by the unique structural make-up of mefloquine and TMC207, respectively. These compounds were evaluated for their anti-mycobacterial activity against drug sensitive Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv in vitro at single-dose concentration (6.25 microg/mL). The compounds 22, 23, 26 and 27 inhibited the gr...
متن کاملMutagenicity and tumorigenicity of dihydrodiols, diol epoxides, and other derivatives of benzo(f)quinoline and benzo(h)quinoline.
The mutagenic activities of benzo[f]quinoline, benzo[h]quinoline, and a number of their derivatives, including dihydrodiols, K-region oxides, diol epoxides, and tetrahydroepoxides, were assessed in strain TA 100 of Salmonella typhimurium. The dihydrodiol derivatives of benzo[f]quinoline and benzo[h]quinoline were also tested for tumorigenic activity in newborn mice. Benzo[f]quinoline was metabo...
